Aadhaar identity verification
Aadhaar verification is optional. Your Share Code stays in your browser. The browser decrypts the ZIP and uploads only the signed XML to private Supabase storage with a one-hour deletion deadline. The AWS verification worker validates the UIDAI signature and deletes the XML before completing the check. We retain the verified English and local-language names, relation names when present, Aadhaar last four digits, one-way hashes of normalized address words, document generation time, verification time, method and status. Address hashes are used only for optional ownership matching and cannot be used by OpenBhoomi to display the raw address. We do not retain the full Aadhaar number, photograph, date of birth, gender or raw address.
Aadhaar purpose and retention
The retained identity fields are used to maintain your private identity-verification record, show other users only whether identity is verified, and compare your identity with seller-uploaded MeeBhoomi records when you request ownership verification. They remain private while identity verification is active on your account, are replaced if you verify again, and are removed when an authorized deletion request is completed, unless longer retention is required for law, fraud prevention, safety or an unresolved dispute.
Ownership documents
New Adangal, 1-B and optional electronic passbook PDFs are uploaded to private OCI Object Storage in Hyderabad. AWS workers read them for automated ownership matching, and authorized administrators can access them through OpenBhoomi for review. Some older objects may remain in private Supabase storage while migration is completed. The PDFs remain after automated processing because a decision may need manual review or later dispute handling. Buyers see only document names and match results, not the PDFs. We store match outcomes and limited audit details and do not intentionally persist full extracted document text, full Aadhaar numbers, phone numbers, raw addresses, caste data or document photographs in the application database.
Hosting and processing architecture
Cloudflare Workers hosts the OpenBhoomi web application and server routes, and Cloudflare R2 stores and delivers public listing photos, videos and application cache objects. Supabase Mumbai provides the application database, authentication, realtime messages and transient private identity input. OCI Hyderabad provides private MeeBhoomi document storage and runs selected public-record workers. AWS runs Offline Aadhaar validation, ownership-document matching and parcel-map processing. Each provider processes the data needed to perform its assigned service under its own infrastructure and security controls.
Maps and official public sources
Map display may use Google Maps or OpenFreeMap with MapLibre. A map provider receives normal browser request information such as IP address and the map area requested. When a public-record check is requested, the relevant district, revenue mandal, revenue village, survey number, LP number or other necessary parcel identifier may be sent to official services such as MeeBhoomi, AP IGRS or BhuNaksha. Aadhaar XML and retained identity fields are not sent to those public-record services.
Other retention and deletion
Account, listing, message, offer, feedback, support and audit records are retained while needed to operate the service, respond to users, protect accounts, review verification decisions, handle disputes and meet legal obligations. Public media remains available while its listing is live unless removed earlier. You may request access, correction, consent withdrawal or deletion through Feedback or connect@openbhoomi.com. A legal, safety, fraud-prevention or unresolved-dispute hold may delay deletion of affected records.
